Military Claims

Washington, D.C.-Based Military Claims Lawyers

The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) allows military personnel and their dependents to file claims against the federal government for injuries caused by medical malpractice in military facilities within the United States, and the Military Claims Act (MCA) allows the filing of similar claims for injuries caused by medical malpractice in U.S. military facilities located abroad. Karp Frosh represents military personnel and their families with medical malpractice and other types of claims under the FTCA or MCA. We also represent civilian federal employees who are injured in the course of their employment, and whose injuries are covered by the Federal Workers Compensation Act (FWCA).

If you or one of your dependents has been the victim of medical negligence, the Karp Frosh firm may be able to assist you regardless of the State our country in which you currently live. If one of our lawyers is not admitted to practice in your State, we still can handle these matters with the assistance of local counsel. Moreover, many of the major decisions in resolving these cases are made in Washington, D.C. (where our Firm has an office), by personnel in the Department of Justice (FTCA claims) and in the Department of Defense (MCA claims). The Firm handles FTCA and MCA cases on a contingent fee basis so that you pay no legal fees unless the Firm secures a recovery.

In addition to handling medical malpractice claims against the federal government, the Firm is proud to have been selected to represent U.S. State Department employees who were victims of the U.S. Embassy bombing in Kenya in 1988, some of whom currently live overseas. Although catastrophically injured as a result of a terrorist attack, these victims were not included in the 9/11 Compensation Fund. The Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and other major news outlets have highlighted the plight of these victims. In testimony before a U.S. Senate committee, former Secretary of State Colin Powell referred to our clients when he stated, "We have to do a better job of taking care of people, such as that brave soldier of the State Department. They go into harm’s way every day just as much as any one of the men and women in our Armed Forces."

If you would like to discuss a potential FTCA, MCA or FWCA case, please email the Firm's managing partner or call Ron Karp toll free at 800-229-7026.
