Trucking and Tractor-Trailer Accidents
Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia Trucking and Tractor-Trailer Accident Lawyers
One out nine traffic fatalities in 2003 resulted from a collision involving a large truck or tractor-trailer. According to the National Center for Statistics and Analysis in Washington, D.C., 457,000 large trucks were involved in traffic crashes in the United Stated in 2003. In those crashes, 4,986 people died and an additional 122,000 people were injured, many seriously. Sadly, a large number of the people killed injured were children. Safety advocates insist that the best way to stem these alarming deaths and injuries on our highways is stiffer penalties for poor drivers, fewer hours behind the wheel and improved reflectors on big rigs. Karp Frosh represents victims of trucking accidents throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and northern Virginia.
Trucking and Tractor-Trailer Accident Settlements and Verdicts
The following table shows compensation we were able to secure for victims and their families. Although one case listed is an auto/motorcycle accident, the injuries were so severe that we decided to list it in the hope we can dissuade clients from riding motorcycles -- we have never seen a "minor" motorcycle accident.
Please note that in some instances the recovery includes a lifetime payout in what is commonly referred to as a "structured settlement." Also note that this list does not contain all of the settlements we have secured for our clients, as some settlements included a confidentiality agreement which prevents disclosure.
